is an Acronym that Dr. Joel Fuhrman came up with in order for you to remember the most nutrient dense, health promotingfoods that are on our planet.

GBOMBS stands for Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds


G – Greens

Raw leafy greens contain only about 100 calories per pound, and are packed with nutrients.

B – Beans

Beans (and other legumes) are a powerhouse of superior nutrition, and the most nutrient-dense carbohydrate source.

O – Onions

Onions, along with leeks, garlic, chives, shallots, and scallions, have beneficial effects on the cardiovascular and immune systems, as well as anti-diabetic and anti-cancer effects.

M – Mushrooms Consuming mushrooms regularly is associated with decreased risk of breast, stomach, and colorectal cancers.

B – Berries

Blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries are true super foods. Naturally sweet and juicy, berries are low in sugar and high in nutrients – they are among the best foods you can eat.

S – Seeds 

Seeds contain healthy fats and are rich in a spectrum of micronutrients including minerals, and antioxidants.

There is also the acronym FN GBOMBS that Ray Cronise introduced which is Fruits, Nuts GBOMBS, by the way Ray is the guy who help Penn Jillette Lose over 100 pounds. 

So Remember GBOMBS or FN GBOMBS, these are the foods that you should eat every day, and they should make up a significant proportion of your diet.

Make a Commitment to Getting Healthy

     Don't think of the Nutritarian Diet as a diet fad that will be replaced in a couple of months with the newest diet of the month. It's more of a lifestyle change similar to becoming a vegan. If you are already a vegan, stick around, you can still learn a lot from a nutritarian diet. This will be a drastic change, for those of you who eat meat, but don't worry, change can be a great thing. Of course making a change like this in your life won't be easy, but it is not impossible. My wife and I have made the change and we don't feel like we are missing out on anything. We are actually getting more motivated by the way we feel and how we are losing weight without exercising, although we are going to begin to exercise soon. We are both losing weight and eating as much of this delicious food as we can, which means we are not hungry. That is the most important factor to me, when I went on diets before I was always starving myself by eating such small portions to try to keep my calorie intake down, which is why dieting doesn't work. In one month I have lost 20 pounds and I feel great. I sleep better, my knees don't hurt anymore, my allergies haven't been acting up, I feel more energized and ready for anything. I also feel more confidant in general. The new year is almost here and most people make losing weight one of their new year's resolutions, well this year make getting healthy your new year's resolution and join me in becoming a Nutritarian. Lets get healthy and get to an ideal weight, by eating the right kinds of food and exercising, together. Lets Eat To Live!

My lunch, Delicious!

Raw fruits and vegetables should be your main course in every meal. Be sure to chew your greens until they are almost liquid to get the most nutrients out of every bite. The pic below is my lunch for today, my breakfast was a milkshake that consisted of almond milk, a banana, a handful of blue berries, a spoon full of flax seeds and Chia seeds, cinnamon and whole rolled oats. Food preparation doesn't have to be difficult at all, keep it simple and you too can start your journey to reaching an ideal healthy weight.

     My name is Mike, and I have decided to get healthy. I am starting a podcast on the SCP Radio Network to help me stay motivated and maybe help others get healthy as well. This all started when I read a book by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, "Eat To Live!". This book changed the way I think about food. I was always a hard core meat eater, and would always make sure that every meal had some type of meat. I am also no stranger to diets and working out, I've been on a couple of diets and I've worked out most of my life and have always been over weight. If I lost any weight, I would gain it back with interest after I would inevitably stop dieting. Diets just don't work, trying to eat small portions of food for every meal will not last and when you run out of will power you will go back to eating with a vengeance. This creates the yoyo effect of losing weight and then gaining it back plus some, which is even worse than if you hadn't gone on a diet at all. This is the reason that I had given up on trying to lose weight by changing my eating habits and just try to brute force the weight loss by just exercising, which would only work temporarily and then the pounds would return. I know I am not the only one who struggles to get to a more healthy weight which is why I want to share the information I learned from the book "Eat To Live". You should  buy it and read it immediately, then come back here to discuss your thoughts and ideas. Lets start a Nutritarian Cult to support each other in reaching our goals to becoming healthy. Eating the Nutritarian Diet will give your body the nutrients it needs to protect you from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, cancer and many other diseases that are caused by meat, sugar and processed food. I know this sounds crazy, meat causes disease, but it's been proven in multiple research studies. Like I said, read the book, Dr. Fuhrman goes into detail about all of the damage that occurs when you eat the Standard American Diet.
